Porky’s rain AND shine chopper show was a hit for the second year in a row. Never in a million years would you expect rain forest weather to be lingering in western New York. Each year now has been jam-packed with blistering heat and short lived torrential downpours. Just enough to cool off the event, get everyone a little wet, and make sure everyone is still awake before the humidity kicked back in.
From the second you pull through the gate your eyes wander from side to side as bikes, hot rods, vendors, and spectators lined the alley between the garage bays. It’s a hell of a compound and perfect venue for a true back-alley chopper show.
This was a pretty low-key event, but as action packed as some of the larger chopper shows. This show was packed with raffles, nudity, banana hammock contest, and as many choppers as you could fit in the space.
Around the show you could find an inflatable pool set up (no thanks to a firework mishap by Otter), next to DJ that was pumping out the tunes and keeping the soundtrack going before a band took the stage. Across the alley there were everything from mixed drinks to meatballs, tacos, and more. New York always shows a huge sense of community in what they do. Very supportive environment, the way it should be.
It was a solid day all around. If you missed out, start shopping for your banana hammock for Porky’s Hog City 3.
